Gavinburn Cottages are gorgeous self-catering cottages in Scotland, conveniently located halfway between Glasgow and Loch Lomond.
The self-catering cottages are situated high on the scenic Kilpatrick Hills, only 15 minutes from either Glasgow City Centre, or the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond, with stunning views overlooking the River Clyde and Erskine Bridge. This unique location also provides guests with a hill walking and mountain bike paradise. Explore the woodland trails, walk to Loch Humphrey, spot the wildlife, admire the views and meet our Highland cows and sheep.
Self-Catering Cottages in Scotland
There are five self-catering cottages to choose from. Three traditional cottages in the Victorian era building; The Auchentoshan, a four bedroom cottage that sleeps up to eight people (NB: This will be a 3 bedroom cottage which sleeps 6 after renovations in Jan 2021); The Glengoyne, a two bedroom cottage; and The Glenmorangie, a one bedroom cottage. Across the car park are The Macallan and The Glenlivet cottages- both have two bedrooms with an open plan living/kitchen/dining area with church-style ceilings and patio doors out onto the sun terrace.
Local Entertainment Near Gavinburn Cottages
There are ample tourism hotspots and outdoor activities surrounding the cottages and plenty of other local activities to keep you entertained on your self-catering stay at Gavinburn Cottages. Kilpatrick train station is located at the bottom of our hill. The trains run every half hour into Glasgow City centre (20 mins) and onto Edinburgh. Glasgow Airport is also a short car journey away.
This makes Gavinburn Cottages an ideal base for anyone looking to get away for a self-catering cottage break in the Scottish countryside. All the cottages have their own patio and garden areas, with furniture for alfresco dining. We are dog friendly but usually limited to one well behaved dog per cottage.
