We are just home for our stay at Gavinburn cottages, we stayed in the AUCHENTOSHAN which was stunning. The cottage was spotless and equipped with everything , it’s the best... read more equipped accommodation we have ever stayed in . The walks and views were beautiful and the owner Alex was always at hand if needed (which we didn’t as everything was perfect) we will be booking again for Easter .

The surroundings and views are stunning. The cottage lends itself to a drink on the patio during a sunny evening, although we had to dodge the showers for that event.
The location is ideal for travelling around the west of Scotland, with Loch Lomond only 15 mins away by car and Glasgow City Centre easily accessible by car or by train from Old Kilpatrick. The purpose of our stay in August was to relax and meet up with other family members and of course spend time exploring the hillside conveniently located on the doorstep of cottages

The best equipped self catering cottage we have ever stayed in, every detail... read more thought of, comfortable and so cosy in the autumn evenings with the log burner fire on looking out over the twinkling lights below.
Location is perfect, hill walking on your doorstep with fantastic views. Also so close to country parks, canal, the ferries to the inner Clyde islands, Loch Lomond and some excellent restaurants, a special mention for Monadh Kitchen in Bearsden, Michelin rated food, great service and exceptional value!
Our host Alex kept us informed at all times and was excellent in dealing with a brief wifi issue, great service.
Don’t hesitate in booking Gavinburn Cottages, they live up to everything they promise and we have no doubt we are coming back soon. More

On this occasion we stayed in the Glenlivet having resided in... read more the Macallan on previous visits, both are equally fantastic in their quality of furnishings and finish.
The surroundings and views are stunning no matter what time of the year we have visited. Having enjoyed time here in both the summer and winter periods, the cottages lend themselves to a drink on the patio during a sunny evening, or cozy night on the couch by the stove when the temperature dictates.
The location is ideal for travelling around the west of Scotland, with Loch Lomond only 15 mins away by car and Glasgow City Centre easily accessible by car or by train from Old Kilpatrick. The purpose of our recent stay in August was to relax, we spent our time exploring the hillside conveniently located on the doorstep of the cottages. They are also extremely handy for the Forth & Clyde Canal footpath where we walked to the Bowling Basin.
Finally the Scottish inspired welcome hamper which was waiting for us on our arrival was a great touch and thoroughly enjoyed by my partner who was new to Scotland during our first visit. As others have commented both Alex and Leigh-Ann were a brilliant during our stay, although we had no issues they were easily contactable and had a great knowledge of the surroundings areas. I have to apologise for not submitting a review a lot sooner!! Many thanks to both of you for your hospitality.

Had a fantastic week in Glenmorangie cottage. Beautiful little cottage, in stunning location. Views of the River Clyde and surrounding hills absolutely amazing. Very comfortable bed and house well equipped... read more - maybe a couple more saucepans in the kitchen would be good and a little mixing bowl. Excellent shower. Very warm little cottage. Had nice informative chat with owner Alex, about the local area. Walks up the hill are superb. Will definitely return.

Little Yorkie dog enjoyed area even though pets allowed place was clean to a high standard and beds were comfy.

Everything provided... read more including a great welcome pack. Accommodation is contemporary but in keeping with the historic cottage. Can’t recommend this more highly for a short or long break, endless walks right behind the cottage with stunning views across the Clyde. The owner Alex is very hands on and nothing was too much trouble.

2021/06/26 - Corrine H Stayed in the Glenmorangie cottage for a week in July 2022. The property is nothing short of superb. Beautifully furnished and equipped throughout. The views are exceptional, with an elevated... read more vista over the Erskine Bridge from the lounge and down the Firth of Clyde from the bedroom. Plenty of parking and a lovely front garden shared only with the other residents.
Also of note a fantastic walk from the front door over to Loch Humphrey reservoir and the Kilpatrick Hills. And the most opulent welcome pack ever!
With close family in the area, we’ll definitely be back, availability permitting.
