Fantastic location with breath-taking views over the River Clyde/Erskine Bridge - sunrise and sunset -wow! Well-equipped. Spotlessly clean. Large walk-in shower. Comfortable. Parking available. Conveniently situated for Loch Lomond in one direction...Glasgow the other.
And to add even more positives - a lovely 'welcome basket' awaits you on arrival stocked with milk, butter, bread, eggs, jam/marmalade, cereals, shortbread, teacakes and a small bottle of the local whisky.
All communication with Alex was clear, helpful and friendly - another bonus!
We highly recommend these cottages.

On top of all that, the location is superb with stunning views and convenient for exploring Loch Lomond and hiking in the Trossachs as well as walking in the local Kilpatrick Hills and visiting Glasgow.
We didn't have any direct contact with Alex or Leigh-Anne during our stay and appreciated the contactless check-in/check-out with the convenient key safe just outside the cottage door. Alex and Leigh-Anne were in contact before our arrival and provided all the directions and information we needed. They also made it clear that they were readily available in case we needed them for anything.
All in all a most enjoyable stay. We rarely if ever stay at the same place twice, but we would love to stay at Gavinburn Cottages again.

Great for visiting family as we did.
We hope to come back with the grandchildren . Children would love to see the animals and play in the garden and explore the hills behind the cottage.
Only the famous scottish weather let us down.
Thank you so much to Alex and
Leigh-Anne without whom this paradise would not exist. They are wonderful hosts.
This wasn't our first trip to the stunning Gavinburn Cottages and we will definitely be back.... again!!

The surroundings and views are stunning no matter what time of the year we have visited. Having enjoyed time here in both the summer and winter periods, the cottages lend themselves to a drink on the patio during a sunny evening, or cozy night on the couch by the stove when the temperature dictates.
The location is ideal for travelling around the west of Scotland, with Loch Lomond only 15 mins away by car and Glasgow City Centre easily accessible by car or by train from Old Kilpatrick. The purpose of our recent stay in August was to relax, we spent our time exploring the hillside conveniently located on the doorstep of the cottages. They are also extremely handy for the Forth & Clyde Canal footpath where we walked to the Bowling Basin.
Finally the Scottish inspired welcome hamper which was waiting for us on our arrival was a great touch and thoroughly enjoyed by my partner who was new to Scotland during our first visit. As others have commented both Alex and Leigh-Ann were a brilliant during our stay, although we had no issues they were easily contactable and had a great knowledge of the surroundings areas. I have to apologise for not submitting a review a lot sooner!! Many thanks to both of you for your hospitality.

We discovered that the location of the cottages is excellent with the airport close by, Glasgow City only a short drive away and Loch Lomond and the Trossacs on our doorstep.
We found the views from the Cottages south east over the Erskine Bridge and south west across the River Clyde to Greenock to be spectacular and it’s even better to watch the sun go down or see the bridge in all its glory when the lights come on.
It’s just like living in a farm with hielin coos feeding in the fields around the cottages, sheep and they’re newly born lambs playing in the burn that runs through the fields, the most beautiful horses in the paddocks as you drive too and from the cottages and not to forget the wildlife with eagles flying above, foxes running past and the occasional hare bouncing through the long grass.
Also, if you fancy a wee walk in the Old Kilpatrick Hills then, you’re almost there. We also discovered that just North of the Cottages is Loch Humphrey, a popular walk with the locals and if you have time I recommend that you don’t miss the opportunity to walk to the top and see the views from there. Also, it’s a great spot for a picnic.
Finally, I would recommend Gavinburn Cottages to anyone looking for accommodation with very high standards in the best ever location you could ask for.
